SHAUCHAT SVANGA JUGUPSA PARAIRASANSARGAH ||40||

शौचात् स्वाङ्गजुगुप्सा परैरसंसर्गः ॥४०॥

śaucāt svāṅga-jugupsā parairasaṁsargaḥ ||40||

Purity (shaucha) results in the abandonment of physicality and the cessation of physical contact with external things. ||40||


śaucāt = (abl. sg. n. from śauca) purity; purification; cleanliness; hygiene 
svā = (nom. sg. f.) their own
aṅga = (iic.) body; limbs 
svāṅga = one’s own body
jugupsā = (nom. sg. f.) disinclined, distanced from, drawn away from
paraiḥ = (from parai) with others; from others; from the outside 
asaṁsargaḥ = (nom. from asaṁsarga) cessation of contact, non-association
